Certified public accountants, in whatever capacity – controllers, auditors, management accountants, consultants, among others, should have a working knowledge of taxation. They will be facing taxation issues and scenarios in the course of performing their accountancy work. Controllers prepare, compute taxes and prepare tax returns. Auditors, on the other hand, examine the appropriateness of computed taxes. Consultants advise on how to legally minimize taxes. Taxation is a dynamic field. There is a need to upgrade one's set of knowledge and skills in order to cope up with the ever-changing taxation landscape.
