Today's business landscape highlights the wide-ranging role of accountants in society and the relationship between compliance with the Code of Ethics and the responsibility of accountants to act in the public interest. Consequently, the regulators are working on certain revisions in the Code of Ethics to serve as an important reminder to accountants of the significance of their roles in society.
The proposed revisions also strengthen the fundamental principles and enhance the application of the conceptual framework through the introduction of new concepts such as the importance of having an inquiring mind.
