Work-life balance for professional accountants
Work-life balance is defined by Cambridge Dictionary as "the amount of time you spend doing your job compared with the amount of time you spend with your family and doing things you enjoy" while Oxford Dictionary defines the phrase as "the division of one's time and focus between working and family or leisure activities." On the other hand, Merriam-Webster does not have a definition for the phrase. An article in Forbes entitled "The Evolving Definition Of Work-Life Balance" claims that the definition of work-life balance changes depending on the generation they are in (Kohll, 2018).
Looking at the definitions above, it seems that knowing the definition of work-life balance is already part of the battle towards work-life balance itself. This creates an even greater challenge for those who want to know how to attain a situation where they have work-life balance.
By enhancing the understanding of the participants on work-life balance and providing practical ways to get closer to it, the seminar aims to help in the development of the participants' wellbeing and productivity.
This training program has been designed for accounting practitioners to integrate techniques and principles in balancing work and life in their daily routine with the hope of attaining work-life harmony.
Tax Updates
The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has continuously intensified its efforts to improve its tax collections. In fact, the target collections of the BIR have consistently increased. For several years, the BIR has priority programs in order to increase its tax collections, such as OPLAN KANDADO, invigorated Run After Tax Evaders (RATE) Program, Computer Assisted Audit Tools and Techniques (CAATTS), etc.
These programs were also adopted in prior years and had greatly contributed in the pursuit of the BIR's mandate of promoting sustainable economic growth for nation-building. Moreover, these BIR activities shall continue to be vigorously implemented in 2017 alongside enhanced tax administration processes and the related information system.
This training program has been designed for practitioners, accountants and officers of private companies to update their knowledge on the recent tax issuances.
By enhancing the understanding of the participants on the above topics/issues, the seminar will help in the competency development of the participants and prepare them to meet compliance and reportorial requirements.
