She is also a Member of the EY Asia Pacific and SGV Subject Matter Groups on Presentation and Disclosure and Group Accounts
She was the manager of the EY Asia Pacific IFRS Desk Core Team from 2014 to 2016
She was seconded in 2004 to EY San Jose, California as part of the Resource Sharing Program of EY

Sonia is a partner in Tax and specializes in tax compliance review, due diligence review for tax matters, modeling of tax impact under alternative structures, review of controls on tax-related processes and review of Deferred Income Tax. Her industry experience includes oil and gas, energy and utility, mining, trading, manufacturing, electronics, telecommunications, real estate, construction, business process outsourcing, hotel, resort and restaurant, transportation, international airlines, regional operating headquarters, schools, manning, logistics and other service oriented industries. She has also handled entities registered under the Philippine Export Zone Authority and Board of Investments.

Sonia earned units in Masters in Business Administration at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business and completed the Management Development Program of the AIM. She graduated cum laude from the University of St. La Salle in 1988 with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, major in Accounting and placed seventh in the 1988 CPA board examinations.

Dr. Jessie Barrot is an author, editor, trainer, researcher, and teacher by profession. He holds a
PhD in Applied Linguistics and a Masters in Teaching English. He is currently the Dean of the
College of Education, Arts and Sciences at the National University and an author at C&E
Publishing. Prior to becoming the Dean, he used to be the head of the Research Center of the
National University, the editor-in-chief of a big publishing company, and a professor at some of
the top universities in the Philippines. Recently, he has been cited as one of the top
scholars/scientists in the Philippines (Project Acumen funded by the European Commission) and
most productive researcher in the field of language and linguistics in the Philippines. He has also
received 13 local and international grants and awards such as the best paper Award for
International Participation by the prestigious TESOL International Association in Washington,
USA and Research Fellowship Award by the Southeast Asian Ministry of Education Regional
English Language Centre in Singapore. Recently, he was named as one of the semifinalists of the
prestigious, National Academy of Education/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship Award 2019 along
with some Ivy League scholars, a first in the Philippines.

Dr. Barrot has been invited as a language and research consultant for various international and
national projects such as the National Foreign Language Center (University of Maryland, United
States), Japan International Cooperation Agency, United States Agency for International
Development, Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture of Japan, Knowledge Channel,
Inc., and BDO Foundation. He has also been involved in more than 15 research projects and has
been invited as speaker/trainer in more than 100 seminars and workshops all over the Philippines
and abroad on writing for scholarly journals, business communication, teaching techniques, oral
presentation, research, and professional writing and served as judge in various research
competitions.

As a writer and researcher, Dr. Barrot has already published 17 books that cover business
correspondence, grammar, academic reading and writing, technical writing, and speech
communication. He has also authored more than 30 research articles many of which were
published in ISI journals and has presented papers in prestigious international conferences in the
USA, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Cambodia. He
is also a reviewer of several ISI journals (Language, Culture and Curriculum, Cognition and
Instruction, Foreign Language Annals, International Journal of Science Education, The Asia-
Pacific Education Researcher, Scientometrics, TESOL Quarterly, and Reading and Writing
Quarterly) and former editor-in-chief of Journal of Sciences, Technology and Arts Research.

Dr, Noe Quiñanola is the present Professional Regulatory Commission Board of Accountancy (BoA) Chairman.

He graduated from the University of San Jose - Recoletos in Cebu City under the programs Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Accounting (BSC), Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE), Bachelor of Laws (LlB) and Master in Management (MM).
He is also a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration (PhD - BA) from the University of San Carlos. He received his Certificate of Business Economics from the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P).

He was Managing Partner of N. G. Quiñanola & Co., CPAs. He is the Managing Consultant, of Quiñanola Consulting and is also the President of the Southwestern University in Cebu City. He is the Comptroller, Director of the CPA Review Center and a Graduate School Professor at the University of San Jose Recoletos in Cebu.

Earlier in his career, he was a Staff Auditor in Sycip, Gorres, Velayo & Co., (SGV) CPAs. He has also served as an Accountant at Sea-Land Service, Inc. and as a Plant Manager at the Lear Automotive Philippines, Inc.
