In "Managing the Soft Spots", NMMC will aim to develop the following soft skills of its members:
- Standards of good business behavior. This module will cover business protocols and etiquette as standards for good business. Participants will learn appropriate protocols and niceties used in business and social gatherings, including introductions and handshakes, the proper use of business cards, tools of the trade, 5 must invest business items, among others.
- Decision making using the Six Thinking Hats. This technique will enhance the critical decision making and individual thinking skills of participants, using six lenses in the appreciation of business challenges.
- Applications of the New Code of Ethics. This module will discuss the application of the salient features of the New IFAC Code of Ethics (effective 15 June 2019). While the fundamentals remain unchanged, several major revisions were made, including stronger independence provisions, revised guidance for professional accountants in business, new guidance relating to professional judgement and skepticism, and amendments for clarity and ease of use.

Mhycke Gallego is a Partner for Advisory and Knowledge Management Head of the Firm. He is also Grant Thornton's Asia Pacific leader for business risk services.
As a risk assurance professional, Mhycke provides assurance, advice, and insight to address clients' needs on operational improvements, risk and regulations, talent and development, growth strategy, ethics and integrity, sustainability, and stakeholder programs. Mhycke has been involved in internal audits, governance and risk, learning and development, human capital, and transaction work of companies within the Philippines and the Asia Pacific region. Mhycke is also involved in the people planning and talent development programs within the Firm.
Mhycke began his career as a financial and information system auditor with P&A Grant Thornton, and moved to a global building materials company holding key roles in internal audit, internal control, Sarbanes-Oxley, due diligence, and post-merger integration as an expatriate to their offices in the United Kingdom, Spain, and the Philippines. He returned to P&A Grant Thornton in 2011.

Leo has over 19 years of combined work experience in People Management, Training, Human Resources and Organizational Development.
He has trained employees from all functional groups, and across different levels for a variety of industries in BPO, Shipping, Manufacturing and Service industries to name a few. A well-rounded Learning and HROD professional, he has effectively designed and delivered a wide range of Learning and OD Solutions – from Personal skills enhancement, Leadership Development to Culture Building.
Leo started working in 1999 with the recognized pioneer BPO organization in the Philippines. With his passion for Learning and Development, he went on to assume various roles in training and people development. This same passion brought him overseas where he served as a Training and Leadership Consultant for a Corporate Governance Consultancy firm based in Singapore. While overseas, he also worked on high profile cases involving companies with Corporate Governance issues. He came back to the Philippines to share his wealth of knowledge and experience for various industries in 2008 before becoming a full time Managing Consultant for a local L&D and management consultancy firm. He is currently the L&D manager for the Knowledge Management Group of P&A Grant Thornton.
Leo is a member of the TOPS Toastmasters’ Club of Makati. He finished Business Administration, Major in Computer Applications in DLSU – College of Saint Benilde.
