Knowing and understanding what to do and what to expect may spell the difference between paying more or paying less taxes. In this day and age, being acquainted with the administrative tax procedures is critical as the cost of not prescribing to the rules may be more than one can possibly ask for.

This seminar hopes to put into proper contexts the process accorded to the taxpayer in the exercise of his rights to dispute, or nullify an assessment and also on how to apply for a compromise settlement or abatement or cancellation of the taxes in the event the obligation to pay the tax as assessed was rendered final.

As protesting an assessment is one of the most basic requirements of due process, this seminar expects to provide the participants a working knowledge on how to properly avail or exhaust of all administrative remedies allowed by law especially on the aspect of disputed assessments.

To date, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) is determined on improving tax collections, and thus, the taxpayer's remedy of protesting a deficiency tax assessment always becomes a paramount consideration not only by the business owners but also their accountants.

The first part of the seminar seeks to contribute by revisiting the established procedures for protesting deficiency tax assessments and how to handle it effectively, thereby reducing the risks of being estopped for failure to comply with the so-called rules and not to expose them to possible tax evasion suit as a result of the delinquency of the assessment.

This seminar has been designed to help in the competency development of practitioners, accountants and officers of private companies, and to prepare them for any upcoming tax reviews/assessments. This program aims to educate said individuals with the various tax issuances and updates of the BIR. The increased awareness of these topics/issuances will help the participants in properly managing their own tax obligations and of the companies they are handling.
