The Summit seeks to increase knowledge, awareness and contribution of accounting teachers and faculty members on two relevant developments: use and application of technology and innovative pedagogy in accounting education, and the new competency framework for professional accountants.

In light of Industry 4.0 and the proliferation of technology and innovative pedagogy, their application to accounting education and its use by faculty members is paramount. Equipping our teachers with available technologies and new ways of teaching accounting programs – whether onsite learning, using collaboration tools, mass online learning and others – and how they can be applied is important especially in coping with pedagogical innovations.

Recently, the Board of Accountancy has introduced the new sectoral competency frameworks for professional accountants in the Philippines covering public practice, government, education, and commerce and industry. During the Summit, teachers and faculty members will be introduced to the framework and contribute to the development of an implementation action plan through round table workshops.
