Alex, both a Certified Public Accountant and lawyer, is the Chairman and Senior Partner of PwC Philippines since 2013. His exposure in public practice lies in audit, tax, business advisory and legal services. He specializes in tax planning and business mergers and acquisitions.

He is currently a board member in PwC’s Southeast Asia Regional Consulting practice.

Before becoming Chairman and Senior Partner, he was Tax Managing Partner since 2006. He is the managing partner of Cabrera & Company, a law firm he founded in 2002.

Under his helm, PwC Philippines was recognized with an advanced rating in Integrity by Integrity Initiative, organized by the Makati business Club and European Chamber of Commerce.

Alex is a columnist of the Philippines’ leading print and digital newspaper, The Philippine STAR, with his “as easy as ABC” column published every Sunday which tackles legal, commercial and social issues.

Alex launched the Developmental Social Enterprise Awards in 2014 in partnership with BCYF that recognize, award and support developmental social enterprises. It aims to increase awareness on these businesses that help society and to help them scale up.

He spearheaded the Philippine Gems campaign, a nationwide search to identify the country’s next wave of tourist destinations. It is one of five Gold finalists in the 2014 Asia-Pacific SABRE Awards.

He likewise led Philippine Resiliency: a Gem Uncovered project that sought the insights of top Filipino CEOs in the Philippines. It won an Asian Publishing Award for the firm in 2010.

The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants recognized him twice with an Outstanding CPA in Public Practice Award in 2015 and a Young Achiever in Public Practice Award in 1998.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the Philippine School of Business Administration, which in 2006 named him as one of its outstanding alumni. He earned his Juris Doctor at the Ateneo de Manila University in 1994 and became a lawyer in 1995. Alex attended a leadership and management program at Harvard Business School in 2006. He is currently completing Wharton University’s CEO Global Transformation program.

He currently chairs the Educated Marginalized Entrepreneurs Resource Generation (EMERGE) program, an initiative of the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) to fund and help selected marginalized entrepreneurs become successful. He earlier chaired the tax committee of MAP. He also chairs the Franchise Excellence Awards.

Dr, Noe Quiñanola is the present Professional Regulatory Commission Board of Accountancy (BoA) Chairman.

He graduated from the University of San Jose - Recoletos in Cebu City under the programs Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Accounting (BSC), Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE), Bachelor of Laws (LlB) and Master in Management (MM).
He is also a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration (PhD - BA) from the University of San Carlos. He received his Certificate of Business Economics from the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P).

He was Managing Partner of N. G. Quiñanola & Co., CPAs. He is the Managing Consultant, of Quiñanola Consulting and is also the President of the Southwestern University in Cebu City. He is the Comptroller, Director of the CPA Review Center and a Graduate School Professor at the University of San Jose Recoletos in Cebu.

Earlier in his career, he was a Staff Auditor in Sycip, Gorres, Velayo & Co., (SGV) CPAs. He has also served as an Accountant at Sea-Land Service, Inc. and as a Plant Manager at the Lear Automotive Philippines, Inc.

An Associate Professor at the University of Asia and the Pacific – School of Management, she conducts research on people management with focus on work-family balance, manager-subordinate trust relationships, diversity and inclusion.

In her role as lead faculty for human resource courses, Dr. Caparas has recently introduced simulation-based training in the UA&P School of Management to give students the hands-on practice they need before they enter the corporate world. Dr. Caparas teaches masteral courses in organizational behavior, human resource management and management research methods. She gives seminars on work-life integration to companies.

For the past several years, Dr. Caparas has maintained an active affiliation at the International Center of Work and Family and the Cross-cultural Management Network, IESE Business School, in Barcelona. During her sabbatical year in 2006, she was the first Visiting Scholar of Catalyst, Inc. in New York City (U.S). Dr. Caparas received her Ph.D. in Management from University of Navarre (Spain), her Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of London (U.K.), and her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration summa cum laude from University of the East (Philippines). She was a topnotcher in the national board examination for Certified Public Accountants. Currently, she is a member of the Academy of Management (AOM) serving as a reviewer for its two conferences (2012-13) and is an Ambassador of the AOM-Human Resources Division. She manages her own firm MV Q Caparas Management Consultancy Services.

Janis Medina-Maghinay has more than 15 years of experience in accounting and advisory work. She started her career in auditing and then shifted to consulting work, handling financial advisories, share valuations, forecasting and modeling, review of financial projections, market and feasibility studies, and project briefs for a wide range of companies and industries. Janis shifted to finance and accounting outsourcing in 2010 and had monitoring responsibility over accounting and secondment engagements. She currently heads the Business Development Unit of the Firm.

Janis also participated in Grant Thornton’s Advanced Managers Program, which was designed for senior managers with partner potential, where participants immerse in leadership and management skills. In 2014, Janis was honored with the Primus Award, the highest form of recognition for individual performance at P&A Grant Thornton.
